Toys Banned in Some CA Fast Food Restaurants

California wants to send a message to kids and parents -- high calorie kids meals are NOT fun!  According to this CNN.com report, California became the first in the naiton to pass an ordinance that "prevents restaurants from preying on children's love of toys to peddle high-calorie, high-fat, high-sodium kids' meals. " The move is seen as another step in the fight against childhood obesity.

According to one local official, the ordinance helps "breaks the link between unhealthy food and prizes."  Restaurants are still permitted to give out toys under very specific limitations.
